Our Story

Bloom Patch Farm is a micro-specialty, home-based flower farm located in Hendersonville, North Carolina. We grow and offer dahlia cuttings, tubers, and flower seeds, and locally provide floral designs including custom corsages, boutonnières, wedding and event bouquets, and bouquet subscription orders.

My love for flowers began at a very young age. I grew up surrounded by blooms, following my mother as she tended gardens and participated in numerous flower societies. I spent countless hours helping her in the garden and attending her flower-arranging classes, where I first learned the art and joy of working with flowers.

As a teenager, that passion deepened while spending summers at our family home, The Briar Patch, in Fines Creek, North Carolina. There, I grew flowers from seed, worked in the gardens, and made bouquets—learning patience, care, and creativity one bloom at a time.

In my twenties, I married my husband, Steve, and we spent ten cherished years living in a small cottage on the Biltmore Estate. The garden we nurtured there remains one of my most treasured memories and further rooted my love for growing and designing with flowers.

In the winter of 2023, I faced a major setback when I lost all of my dahlia tubers due to storage issues. Rather than giving up, the spring of 2024 marked a turning point. Determined to never be without dahlias again, I began growing and selling dahlia cuttings—an unexpected new beginning that became the heart of Bloom Patch Farm.

This farm is built on faith in the journey, the resilience found in starting over, and the hope carried in every new bloom.
